That applies particularly to the pages that quote FDA drug labels — the drug information, side effects, dosage and interactions pages. Those reproduce regulatory text written by the manufacturer, in full and unedited. We do not interpret it, and a page being complete is not the same as it being everything you need to know.

Every figure on this site is calculated from public data — chiefly the CMS National Average Drug Acquisition Cost survey, published federal drug directories, and prices retailers publish themselves. None of it is a quotation from a pharmacy, and no pharmacy is obliged to honour it.

• What a pharmacy actually charges depends on its own contracts, your location and the day.
• Our figures include dispensing fees and shipping where we know them, and we say when we do not.
• Always confirm at the counter before relying on a number to make a decision.

Our interactions pages quote what one manufacturer documented on one label. They are not a check of your medication list, and a drug missing from a label has not been cleared — licensed clinical databases list far more interactions than any single label does.

Before combining medicines, including supplements, ask a pharmacist. They can check everything you take at once, they will do it for free, and you do not need an appointment.

Those pages describe what published evidence shows about remedies people use in place of prescriptions. They describe; they do not recommend. Where a remedy has been tested and works, we say so, and where it has been tested and does not, we say that too.

Where we show an over-the-counter product containing the same active ingredient as a prescription, that is a price comparison, not a recommendation to switch. Strengths often differ, release mechanisms differ, and the right choice depends on why it was prescribed. Read our guide on this and ask a pharmacist before switching anything.
